Boycott Description

All that glitters is not gold. Wegmans has many problems. They accuse people of shoplifting who have done nothing wrong. The discriminate against elderly & LGBT customers. The pull their stores from poor neighborhoods & means-test neighborhoods before building a store. They sell food past the "use-by" date & many (including me) have been sick from food poisoning. They continually recall products for bacterial contamination & other problems. They've been sued for multiple reasons (personal injury, job discrimination & sex discrimination are the most common reasons). They sell beer, contributing to the alcoholism problem in the U.S. Their own employees complain about long hours or not enough hours, disrespect from management & limited job growth. People are reporting customer service, food quality & cleanliness all going downhill. And Wegmans wants to expand into MORE STATES? We can do better. Boycott Wegmans.

Boycott Demands

Train employees better in how to handle customer complaints & screen employees before hiring for interpersonal relations skills. Improve employee work hour & job growth policies. Improve the way management treats lower-level employees. Reconsider alcohol sales. Improve worker safety & stop discrimination of women & minority employees. Consider pulling some Wegmans Brand products for safety reasons &/or improve the listing of ingredients, esp. food allergens. Pay better attention to unrefrigerated, take-away foods & remove all items past the use-by date from shelves. Revamp entire attitidue toward the poor in their communities & the way Wegmans treats them. Stop discrimination against elderly & LGBT, esp. women or deal with employees who do it. Stop the surveillance & intimidation tactics toward people who have not shoplifted & for whom there is no evidence pointing to it.
