Boycott Title

rip off by virgin mobile pay as you go

Boycott Description

My husband and I use VIRGIN MOBILE pay as you go plan, we use our mobile very sparingly because it took us sometime to realise that we are charged both ways for a call- for making (which we would expect) and for receiving. This an American practice which does not operate in the UK or Europe. In any case as a retired couple we use our mobile phones very rarely, we do have unlimited local and national calls on our Time Warner Cable contract. A few months ago my husband lost $27 + because of underusage. A similar thing has now happened to me. Surely the phone is for the covenience of the consumer and not for the sole purpose of making money for the company? I am heartily sick of the cheating which goes on with telephone companies. It is as if they were given an open license to practise whatever it takes to make huge profits.A complaint was dealt with by some person overseas with no clue and less authority. A few days later I had a customer service email survey, in responding I was very frank about my opinion of VIRGIN MOBILE  unsurprisingly there has been no response so far, and once again they will get away with ripping off another customer. No doubt they are operating within the law!

Boycott Demands

That VIRGIN MOBILE will treat its customers fairly and have reasonable terms especially in their PAY AS YOU GO contracts which many elderly people use, not frivolously or for gossip, but when there is a real need

I don't know much about VM's pre-paid plan, but their monthly plans suck just as much.  They took out FOUR payments on my credit card in a THREE day period, because I had automatic withdrawal each month and they screwed it up and blamed me!  It took an act of congress to get my 3 payments back.  I'm done with these people!  I'd rather use two cans and a string!

People think prepaid is the way to go. It's not. Trust me. You get crappy service. If you wantgood service, a good phone, and the rights to stop complaining. Get a post-paid.

I canceled my account w/ virgin mobil Broadband to go in Aug 2010 @ that time I had a $40.00 credit which I requested to be credited back to my credit card.  This did not happen. I called and was told that the ref.# I had did not exist, and that there was no record that I had made the requst to cancel or to credit back my credit card.  I again made the request.  Here it is Feb 2011 and still have not receieve satisfaction.. Small claims court is next.  This is an unethical company!!

Thank's for everything

I had paid my top off, But they forgot to move the date up 90 day's. So they turned my phone off again. I called them and never get it resolved. The best they could do was to get to to top off again and start over . I spent day's on the phone with them ans this was the best they could do. I told them I have been out of work for month's now. And 20 buck's was a lot of money. All my job app's have that number, just wanted to thank them for screwing my life more than it is. Merry X-mas and tell Alex he is a ass.

Um, not a huge fan of the communications companies (or any corporation), but come on - who put the metaphorical gun to your head to force your acceptance of these terms? The very "penalty" you described as having incurred is spelled out quite plainly (in various languages) in the litterature that accompanies this company's products. This is in the packaging where it can be found -AND SHOULD BE READ- before activation. Imagine that? A consumer taking just a little bitof responsibility for their part played in the purchase of a product/service..... Oh, sorry. THAT would require some self sufficiency, and that is extinct. My bad.
