Boycott Title

Boycott Due to Poor Service

Boycott Description

So what would you think of an airlines that calls you at 9:30PM with a message that your parents connecting flight from an international destination (oh, by the way the London to Chicago part) has been cancelled? At least I had a full 2.5 hours before they have to leave for the airport.

Then the agent disconnects almost 3 hours into the call. When it was finally done and they reissued the ticket, I turned them back to their accomodation. Older parents who had no sleep because of my calls and me on the phone for three hours trying to fix a situation that they caused because of a 'maintenance issue' hours before an international flight.

Who is this amazing airlines? UNITED, of course. They're pathetic.

I've seen A LOT of similar complaints on the web and will NEVER fly UA again until the following demands are met.

Boycott Demands

1. The CEO must issue an apology in public for the demeaning and disrespectful behavior of his employees.

2. UA must fix its system such that notifications of cancellations are made within a reasonable timeframe.

3. UA must ensure that hold times on the phone are no longer than 5 minutes during off peak times and 10 minutes during peak.

4. UA will discontinue its use of off shore call centers or at the very least ensure that the agents who answer are fluent English speakers.

5. UA will report, on its website, the reason for each flight cancellation and delay of over two hours.

NOT A MORON

GLENN BECK IS A SMUG, POMPOUS SELF AGGRANDIZING EGOMANIAC. HE WISHES SOMEONE WOULD GIVE HIM ENOUGH NEGATIVE ATTENTION TO PERCEIVE HIMSELF AS BEING SLIGHTED.

I am boycotting American Airlines due to the disgusting way in Which they treated Conservative talk show host Glen Beck.

No one should ever be treated the way he was by a flight attendent of American Airlines, if an appology is not given to

Glen Beck, we America will be happy to see America Airlines

bankrupt by the end of this year!

United Trip Disaster

Due to airline delays, bad weather, flight cancellations, late take offs, missed connections and customer service personnel who don't much care about the customer it took us 39 hours to fly from Boston, Ma to Portland, Or. We left at 12:00pm on 8/9/2012 and arrived in Portland,Or at 12:AM on 8/11/2012. We had to spend the night in the Houston airport due to missed a connection. A caceled flight in San Francisco. and a missed connection in Seattlle didn't help either. I have never had a worse flying experience in my life, and I have been flying for 50 years. I will never fly United again after the "flight from hell" as if that makes any differce to United!!!

Lost luggage

I am definitely joining your boycott - we flew from Canada to Memphis for a holiday via Chicago only to discover that our luggage didn't make the trip - we've contacted the baggage claim # 5 times (who knew that the call center is in India) - contacts attempted to contact the Memphis airport baggage but couldn't get alive person as well as no one returned our messages - we arrived on Thursday and leave tomorrow (Monday) and without luggage or response - needless to say we won't be flying united anytime soon - of course it is possible that we perhaps will need to rent a car as they may decide to cancel their flights - it's amazing they stay in business - may need to write a song about the airline like the guy did about them breaking his expensive guitar

The worst

U*nited is the worst airline I have ever flown in my 40 years of business travel. Their off shore call centers are the main reason. United only pays them 2 bananas a day and if they increased it to 3, maybe they could get speak who speak and understand better English.

United (express jet) Blows!! - 7/12/12 2:59 PM

United (express jet) Blows!!

This airline totally sucks. I was flying a connecting flight with them out of wash, dc. Our flight left almost 3 hours late. The plane had multiple electronic problems. Finally they fixed it by splicing wires together with electrical tape, something that took a matter of seconds to accomplish. Instead of arriving at~11:30 pm we got home at almost 3 am and the trains even had stopped running from the airport! I was forced to rent a car at a rate of~$150 for one day. All they gave us in compensation was water and pretzels! I was seated in the back of the plane and there was a box labelled "extended delay kit, do not open unless flight is delayed more than 2 hours" It was a small box, I thought there would be alcohol in it. It was just pretzels!! This flight was operated by united "express jet". The floor of the plane on the window side seemed to be leaking coolant from a crack towards my wifes foot which made her very very cold so we had to change seats. The bathroom had cracks in it that were plastered. It looked like a busted down old plane. I thought we were going to crash! I will NEVER fly united again. The pilot eventually told us the electronic problems were due to a "sensor saying the doors were not completely sealed, a sensor similar to one on your home security systems, saying that the main cabin door is not completely sealed." Between this news and the update that they were basically splicing the wires with cheap electrical tape I started to pray to God that we would make it. Also there was inclement weather so the pilot said "even if we would have taken off on time the arriving airport is diverting all aircraft so we would not have been able to land there" There was bad weather at our arriving airport but it is a major hub in the southeast so I highly doubt that they were diverting all traffic. Btw a black woman at the DC airport with a funky hairdo came on after we were disembarked and reboarded. My wife was talking to a spanish speaking lady at the back and this woman rudely told her to sit down so we can depart on time! This was after we were already delayed almost 3 hours. What a joke I will never use United again...Their website does not even have a phone number to contact them, that is how much they suck.

I booked this through orbitz.com (another nightmare company I will never use nor any of their affiliates) so next time I will be using my old travel company that I used to work for who mainly does cruises but they do book some air. At least when I call them in case of problems I can talk to someone in the US, unlike Orbitz who seems to all be in the filipines and it takes forever to get them on the phone, probably due to the horrible way they run their company. My flights out were also delayed at the start of my vacation and I was worried that I would miss my connection flight. My wife and I were a few of the last people to board that plane shortly before take off. Next time I will pay extra and book directly with the companies.

just transfer it! - 6/10/12 12:49 AM

just transfer it!

My complaint is probably not as frustrating as many others, but I do feel that I am being reasonable and that United Airlines is not.

I purchased two tickets for my and my boyfriend, he had me pay for them. He decided to end the relationship and leave me with the ticket. I have a friend ready to take his place, but they won't allow me to transfer the ticket because his name is on it. I PAID for it! I can prove I am the customer, not him.

Like I said, my complaint isn't as frustrating as someone who had a cancelled flight and were out loads of money missing out on things they already paid for such as hotels, car rentals and the such.

Does anyone else think that my request is unreasonable?

The lady in the off shore calling center could not help me, and of course there was not a supervisor that I could talk to. I have been a customer for many years and even decided to oped the Chase United credit card, that I will be cancelling if this is not met to my satisfaction.

I hate to see that so many people are frustrated with United (and at the same time, glad to know it's not just me). I sincerely hope they figure it out and get their heads out of their asses.

Airline ticket means air - 5/15/12 9:35 AM

Airline ticket means air

I booked a flight with United Airlines from allentown Pa to Orlando.  Upon further inspection of my itenary I found that my "flight" also included an 1hr. and 30 min. ground transportation to an airport that I could reach in less time directly from my home.  I contacted customer support at United and proceeded to be placed on hold for over 1 hour with not solution.  I will follow up with the better business bureau in an attempt to stop this false advertisement for a flight with United Airlines.

write your congressperson - 5/3/12 2:16 PM

write your congressperson

This airline, more than any other, seems to let its customers dangle when they have maintenence issues.  Any airline can have maintenence issues.  We can't fault them for that, nor do we want the airlines to ignore these issues.  But it is my understanding that the airlines are legally mandated to take care of customers whose schedules must be renegotiated.  United Airlines appears to be cutting costs in this area by just ignoring the needs of their customers.  In my case I am an older gentleman with certain medical that I was unable to take care of when stranded overnight in an airport without my medications.  I urge people to write their congressperson and request legislation that will make the airlines more accountable for their activities.

22 hours with customer service support in the Philippines and India and still no tickets booked. United Airlines' customer service has become so terrible that, after 30 years of being a loyal customer, and over 2 million accrued miles, I am no longer going to attempt to fly with United.

At least you were able to get someone at United to speak to!

I have been trying to pursue a claim against Continental/United who cancelled a flight from Edinburgh to Newark last September for the same "technical reasons" when we were waiting to board. We flew 2 days later! Continertial issued us with forms confirming entitlement to €600 but have since failed to respond to emails up to and including a threat of being sued. Attempts to phone "customer care" get nowhere because the call just rings out permanently
