Boycott Title

USPS Boycott

Boycott Description

I am initiating a boycott of the United States Postal Service  as a result of the hassles forcibly inflicted by their incessant delivery of sales flyers and other junk mail and refusal to provide and opt-out option for these items because the delivery of said items generates a profit for them.

As of today I refuse to check my mail and will not use the post office or even a stamp for any personal or business dealings.

Boycott Demands

that the post office provide an opt-out method for residents who do not want their mailboxes and subsequently trash cans flooded with unwanted sales flyers.

Just say no!

USPS does not deliver letter or parcel mail to physical addresses (homes and businesses) in my community.   They will return an overseas shipment if it does not include a local PO Box number, rather than expend the effort to reference the street address with the box number.   So, I don't use the USPS....ever.  I ship everything with FedEx or UPS.  I use email prolifically.  I pay bills online.

Want to see USPS go away?  Just help them continue to fail by avoiding business with this mediocre example of government bureaucratic nonsense.  Think a single-payer goverment healthcare program will be any different?  Think again.

Won’t Allow Mailbox Relocation

My mailbox was located on the curb, but due to my small driveway and odd entry angle it kept getting run over by delivery drivers, friends and anyone else who parked at my place.  The last person to hit it actually destroyed it and feeling badly they replaced it with a box I could mount to my house like many of the other homes in my neighborhood.  Not knowing that I needed special approval from the Post Master for this change I attached my box to my place.  Bear in mind that it is less than 25 feet from where it was, but right after the mail carrier left a note saying that my mail would cease to be delivered until the box had been replaced at the street unless I got the required approval for the change.  I went to the local office with high hopes and was told under no circumstances could my box be moved from the street even though the site says it is and just needs approval.   However, It didn't matter which power hungry government a-hole I spoke to they were adamant and offered no help to resolve otherwise.  So, I asked for my mail that had not been delivered and was told that the carrier had it with him and I'd have to fill out a "hold mail" form for it to be left at the local PO for me to pick up.  For all the money that establishment has been hemorrhaging for so long you'd think they'd be more custome service oriented.  I have subsequently requested to receive everything electronically from my bank and bills.  Onice I'm certain I won't miss something important I'll quit using them and they can shove all the junk mail destined for my place where the sun doesn't shine.  When more people opt out of this pathetic organization and the USPS has no business and has to lay-off peoole I hope they realize the importance of customer service.

Packages continously lost

Memphis Tennessee is by far the worst place when it comes to your packages literly spend a month waiting for packages to come out of country then you have to wait another month for them to decide to send it to your area from Memphis TN everytime I contact someone to file a complaint they avoid giving me the right information and people. I wish we had an option to choose who we use for a mail provider.

0 service quality or accountability

I always thought the post office was incompetent and complicit in losing and mishandling mail  Now everything I thought about the post office has been confirmed.  My wife took a job at one and now I hear it firsthand. Employees come to work reaking of alcohol, employees THROWING peoples boxes across the room and into the bins, time sensitive mail getting left behind, employees on perpetual never ending smoke breaks, supervisor disappearing for 1,2 or 3 hours (lunch breaks are only 30 minutes and they get 2 15 minute breaks). The list goes on and on. There is 0 accountability, pretty much no training or half assed training and 0 supervision. Our mail is often lost or possibly delivered to the wrong address and we often get others mail in the neighborhood. We boycott and avoid this incompetent business like the plague and she works there!!

pathetic

package shipped from tx to ct via ca then from ma goes far away again. now they put these random midnight lie scans which disappear. I thought ordering on the 11th would get it here by Christmas.

I work at a liquor store on Sunday. The postal employees can barely function and drink much - but they all have to tell ypu how much money they made that day. Privatize these bums so we don't have to pay for their stumblebumness...

Cant think of a worst-customer service mail delivery system

Besides the fact that you can't get a real person over their 1800 number, or you try to submit feedback online and it shows "processing error" - and the fact that, you get mixed instructions... it's amazing to me USPS locations have not all been shut down.

If you need a passport application processed, you are better off staring 3 months before because you will get push back from EVERY SINGLE clerk for whacky reasons. All because they either are too lazy to go through the verification/process or because they themselves dont even know the answers.

I have gone 3x to the same location - my last attempt was an online appt i made (MANDATORY AT THIS LOCATION WHILE OTHERS ARE WALKin) which got cancelled TWO HOURS PRIOR with NO CANCELLATION REASON.

Not sure if they are aware (from my experience, they are clueless) but passports take weeks, it is not best practice to cancell a PASSPORT APPT hours before with no reason.

I know USPS doesn't care, but word of advice for the rest of the suckers like me who HAVE to use them - DO NOT MAKE ANY PASSPORT APPT. FIND A LOCATION WHERE WALKINS ARE WELCOME. (good luck trying to figure that one out!)

The appointments arent monitored - they didnt even know i had an appt (the one before the lastest one got cancelled). But as soon as i said (the first attempt) i was there for passport, they snapped back with "did you make an appt?!" i replied no, and they said they cant help me. But when i did have an appointment, they didnt even ask me for when. Bottom line - USPS IS A JOKE. ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Usps is ridiculous

The one a hole in this forum, defends the USPS anonymously. Obviously a postal worker and on the wrong forum!!  In 16 months living in murfreesboro, tn has been a nightmare with usps. We NEVER get our amazon prime delivered on weekends. Ever!  They either say, u,deliverable or delivered. But, on monday, they are there. Our jackaxx postal carrier crabs stuff in our mailbox 3/4 hanging out in rainy weather or uses a rubber band to keep the lid closed to avoid walking 2 car lengths up our driveway in an extremely affluent neighborhood.

Her morin, sticking up for usps, don't ASSUME that all postal workers are good or bad. Ours sucks!  We will no longer do business with amazon because of usps. And, I pay premium for ups or FedEx service. There is a reason they almost went bankrupt. You can't get rid of scrappy civil servants. Shamefully, there are so many good workers performing contract jobs knowing everyday could be their last for no reason at So,iand these idiots can never be fired. Look up murfreesboro, tn church street google reviews. And, next time...think before you type. If it is a sore spot for you, get off this forum.

Shameless USPS Greed

I lost my father this summer to an illness and found out that the USPS does not have an option for reporting that an addressee is deceased.  Hmmm.  Think about it: you can forward, stop, or hold Dad's mail, but not simply have it "Returned to Sender - Addressee Deceased."  So, a hundred pieces of junk mail addressed to Dad have shown up in my mail box every week.  And the sender has no idea they are wasting a mailing.  The only reason this is so has to be the greediness of USPS -- to make money from sending unwanted trash mail -- regardless of the impacts to the environment or my own preferences.  Well, in response, I've removed my mail box.  All of my business/finance dealings are electronic now.  I hereby boycott USPS forever.  The sooner it dies on the vine, the better.

Put USPS out of business - 4/20/16 11:48 PM

Put USPS out of business

Simple math. More people are doing online banking, ect. In fact, I have one routine piece of mail that comes every 4 months. It's a garbage bill, and it's about two weeks overdue. Less mail is being sent out. Post offices are shuting down. Employees are being cut. Yet, the cost of sending a letter continues to rise. This is not because it actually costs more to get it there, it is because that letter represents a higher fraction of the USPS income. Anyway, after the USPS decided to stop delivering my mail due to a dog incident, granted the dog was out of line, but is only slightly larger than my cat, I have decided to get a PO Box, not at the Post Office, but a USPS store. I will also put return to sender on all non-essential mail. Let the Post Office do twice as much work for the same pay. Just remember, this is what happens when you let the goverment run what should be a private organization. There is no competition for customers, therefore no drive for performance. And it is nearly impossible to get fired from a govement job as long as you show up on time, look like you're trying, and don't do drugs.

Simple Way To Stop Junk Mail - 2/27/16 2:47 PM

Simple Way To Stop Junk Mail

Mail security is not the concern of the USPS. It is the home owners responsibility. Roadside boxes are the most insecure of all. If the letter carrier dosen't have to get out of the jeep to reach the box, neiher does a thief. If the box has a locking door on the front then a screwdriver and a quick twist is all that is needed to open and steal sensitive info from you. I moved my Box 4 feet from the curb to my front gate. I can now see the box from my window and anyone standing near it. The only problem is the USPS refuses to deliver mail until I put the box back on the road side. Not going to happen. Because all my bills are auto pay, the majority is junk and solicitations. Now they have to notify senders that it is now an undeliverable address. Problem Solved!!!

Worthless USPS

Just wanted to say thanks USPS for loosing 13 packages of ours in last 3 months. You guys are doing a really crappy job and keep up the great work. You take no responsibility for your crappy work and our our customers cant rely on you to deliver a package. How is a small business supposed to survive when all you do is screw up and then tell me to fill out a form 30 days after you lost the package. Then you deny insurance which you say your provide. You need to be boycotted and shut down.

Outsource me please!

All I ever get is junk mail--and bills.  While I opt in for the bills I can't opt out of the junk mail.  Unfortunately you need an address for everything, and often a street address.  Once that is established you're hosed.  Over 80 percent of the junk I get goes straight into the recycle bin.  Junk mail is no different than SPAM...everyone hates it.  Outsource USPS.

many of you are complaining about service. I don't feel the same, just want the financial mess to cease, why do we even need paper mail delivery to my door, make it a subscription and let me opt out!

I don't even exist anymore - 3/16/11 12:52 PM

I don't even exist anymore

I had a PO Box for over 15 years with the same Post Office. It was a very small district and I knew my post master personally for most of that time. Then, when he retired there were a series of older men on their way out to retirement and my mail services got noticeably worse. To avoid many of the hassles that were starting to come up and not have to drive to the Post Office all the time, I got a UPS box at a location I drive by every day on my way home from work. This had problems all its own; sometimes mail would reach me, sometimes it wouldn’t. Many times I had bills and first class mail returned to sender as “address not deliverable”, even when I had been receiving mail addressed EXACTLY that way for months. This random not deliverable problem has continued for almost two years, even though letters are addressed exactly the way the Post Office says to address them. So, after two years of slowly switching over most of my mail to the new address, I decide to put in a forwarding on the PO Box so I can complete the process. Now the stuff REALLY hits the fan! 1) I go to the USPS site and try to put in a COA, but the system tells me that two different credit cards aren’t mine! 2) Following their directions I print out the manual pre-filled form and deliver it personally to the Post Office. 3) Weeks later, I don’t have any forwarded mail so I call – the new post master tells me that the forwarded mail is coming back because of “no urbanization name”. Tells me to try again on USPS.com. 4) I go through the whole process, triple-checked and hand deliver the manual form to the Post Office again. Weeks later, still no mail at either address. *now I’m worried because I know that at least 15 letters have not been delivered and I have creditors on the phone demanding to know why I haven’t paid my bills* 5) I go to the Post Office and speak face to face with the postal clerk who shows me my form and says that she can’t figure out why my mail isn’t being forwarded correctly. She gives me a different form to fill out to “Correct name” on the file. I fill it out and send it to the address on the form.  6) I mail a stamped and addressed letter to the PO Box to determine where my mail is going – it returns 2 weeks later with a stamp “undeliverable”.  7) I send out another letter, hoping that things have worked themselves out – the letter disappears, never to be seen again.  8) Over 5 months later I have NOT HAD EVEN ONE PIECE OF MAIL FORWARDED. Now, no mail is delivered to either of my (paid) addresses. All the mail from the past that I have gotten from various companies after the fact have the forwarding label that only says “vacant” – so in the eyes of the Post Office I don’t even exist anymore. An interesting circumstance, since I pay cash money to rent both addresses and don’t seem to exist at either of them.

USPS are Crooks

The USPS constantly complains about loss of income.  Perhaps they should stop alienating themselves from the paying public.  First of all they keep raising letter and parcel rates everytime we turn around, claiming need income or we will have to cut employees, hours, delivery times (same old trick).  Then they consistantly go up on PO box rates...something that saves them time and money by delivering all my mail there instead of to my house and I pay them to do it..good deal for them right..well they priced themselves out of that..I told them cancel my box and deliver my mail all the way to my house for free..they are soo stupid.  Then I went to fill out a mail forwarding card at the Post Office..she said you can do it online.  So I did..they want to charge $1 to fill out the form online.  So I filled out the paper card instead for free, put it in a mailbox and they delivered it two cities away for free, and are paying some schmuck to manually enter my forwarding information into a computer all for "Free"..and they wonder why they cant generate revenue!!  It is just an example of the fraud, waste and abuse of a Government entity...UPS and FEDEX can turn a profit and do not cost anymore then the USPS services..hummmm.  I think that I am going to start putting all of my junk mail into a mailbox and writing "Return to Sender" on it and let them waste more time going through my junk mail than I do.  Half the time the delivery person thinks that the mail is considered "delivered" if she gets in a box within 5 houses or less of the address requested on the letter.

I don't understand why the USPS will deliver junk mail, but refuses to deliver inportant mail on time.  I receive all of my due bills late (or not at all)  which is costing me more money so, have begun to do online banking.  Someday these postal carriers will be out of jobs because of things like this.

This will solve your problems!  My postal carrier refused to stop delivering the junk as well, and even began writing, "Junk Mail Pays the Bills" on my mail as he delivered, but you can stop it at dmachoice.com.  When I moved, I spent hours each week getting all previous residents' mail stopped as well.  So, now i check my mail but refuse to ever ship with the USPS because their personnel are incompetent and professionally RUDE!
