Boycott Title

Netflix Boycott - Give us New Releases

Boycott Description

Boycott Netflix by terminating your monthly plan and renting movies else where that have new release movies available!

Netflix betrayed loyal customers that helped it become so popular by making backroom deals with studios that hurt customers.  In exchange for getting lower pricing on DVDs from movie studios, Netflix has agreed to hold out new releases from Sony, Universal, and Warner Bros for 28 days after DVD/Blu-ray release dates.  This includes movies such as Avatar, Sherlock Holmes, It's Complicated, and Blindside.  Countless more movies such as Harry Potter and Clash of the Titans are also going to be subject to this unfair delay.  If we, as customer's, do not express our disgust, Netflix will make deals with remaining studios to subject all new movies to delays.  Yes, they are screwing the loyal customers for more profits!  You can temporarily switch to blockbuster in-store and mail program since they have all new releases available immediately!

Boycott Demands

Netflix should reinstate availability of new release DVDs/Blu-rays on the day of its release.

Netflix is cheap for what it is.

Netflix is cheap for what they offer. If you want to see new release, go pay $10 a person at the theatre...  I am more than happy to wait the extra month or whatever.  I do not revolve my life around Hollywood.

DUMB CUSTOMERS

All of u customers are dumb if u were so loyal u wouldn't be boycotting and your mad they made a deal to lower costs of the plans in total and u just have to wait an extra 4 weeks.  Dummie maybestudy wouldn't be so worried about trying to keep plans cheap if albums dumb customers when they raised the plan 4 dollars to open more customer service centers and to keep the company growing

Just my thoughts...

In general, I like Netflix and have been with them for +5 years. I would be willing to pay about 20 a month if their movie and series contracts were up to date, and the production companies would give them speedier access to new,or even semi-new releases, however, I do not anticipate the production companies doing that when they can milk the public directly first. Even if they got faster updates on weekly series shows from local networks (like talk shows) that would be better. Either way their increase in charges is not related to increased production company pricing (according to them) so, we (the customer) are asked to pay more for an already antiquated show library, and aging infrastructure.... Mostly, I don't like it when I am watching a series, and you watch 12 episodes of 15 lets say, and the last 3 episodes are on DVD only. With their new plan, I will have to have both DVD & streaming in order to see a whole series. Not to mention wait on DVD mailings to finalize a series, which defeats the instant streaming purpose anyway. I feel like it is strictly their [NF] choice to arrange it this way, because if they have a contract allowing the instant stream of a series, that contact is for the whole series, not just episodes 1-12 in the contract for streaming, and the 13-15 on DVD. I call NF about 2-3 times a month for streaming issues and they usually try to pin it on my DSL service, or my Roku box. I get 6Mbps (megabits) and I have a XD/S box. My services are only dysfunctional when it comes to NF service. No others. Hmmm,...so it MUST be my DSL or my box,..huh?
In addition, and as we all know, the movies and shows are either older, or not currently updated (series), and I can find most content on the net, it's just not located in one easy library like on NF. In my mind, the only reason for using Netflix is the packaged convenience of location, and that is obviously becoming less available with NF...they are now wanting to charge us more for their increasing inconvenience.. Just my thoughts. We are canceling.

They rae raising rates based on split service

I was just notified by NETFLIX that the streaming video and DVD by mail service that I had been enjoying for the last year was now going to double in cost effective 1 Sept 11. The email basically said that they were splitting their service: Plan #1: Unlimited streaming for $7.99 a month or Plan #2: unlimited DVD's (1 at a time) at $7.99 per month...or you could get both for $15.98 per month....and there are additional charges is you want more than 1 DVD at a time per month on plan #2. They have essentially raised their prices 100%. I cancelled my account immediately. Hope a lot of other people do also.

Ho long have you been screwed

Its pretty bad when you cancel netflix and you find out after not watching bank statements that you are being screwed and still being charged for the stuff you thought was cancelled.  It's like they stole 17.54 out of my pockets so watch yours and don't mess up like I did.  That really sucks.

blockbuster online wasn't available - 4/14/11 1:20 AM

blockbuster online wasn't available

I live 20 miles from the nearest blockbuster. when I signed up for netflix there wasn't any blockbuster online. and the prices and late fees and gas money would make it ridiculous for me not to try netflix. so the patronizing attitude from this annonymous "you're so easily fooled" bozo is just smug self satisified drivel. netflix made a deal to hold back on the release dates of new releases with the studios supposedly to make people buy the movies because they didn't want to wait. I think that's idiotic. there's no way, I would waste money on movies I've never seen. also no way I want to buy a movie to watch over and over again. netflix is most likely getting some kind of kickback. I am going to look into blockbuster online now that I know what netflix is doing, but not because I was "fooled" how smug can you be? I also can only afford dial up internet access and can't do streaming video so all those things that are available to people who can afford to have better internet connections, aren't available to me. some people are just ill mannered and self serving.

You're all so easily fooled

GO BACK TO BLOCKBUSTER.  Simple as that.

New movies a month before Redbox and Netflix.

Games rented ONLINE.

Free monthly coupons for movie and game rentals.

Scratched disk? Take it back down the street and swap it.

Swap Mailer movies for instor movies while new mail movies get shippsed out.

Face to face customer service. REAL ONLINE EMAIL customer service.

Concessions for CHEAP while in line. 3 dollars for popcorn, coke, and big box  candy.

Can't get ANY Of that with Rebdox or Netflix. And if you do the BB online program you get a lot more for a cheaper deal. Also, if you swap your movies and coupons right you get more movies than the deal you're signed up for.

By now all the simple lemmings that were fooled by Netflix and Redbox that it hurt Blockbuster and it might be too late for BB to come back. But man, all of you really screwed up a good thing. BB had so many more available options and you just let them go. How pathetic.  BB also had all movies streamable online. At a super cheap cost but at least they still had them unlike what NF advertises.

SPread that information around.
