Boycott of Hotmail

I am complaining because I got 16 or more illegal spam emails each day using hotmail.com and when I complained as instructed in Microsofts website I was shut down.  This happened 7 times with a 6 month span.  They should be banned from doing business.

why are you complainuing about a free Email service. buy a real one and this would not happen

Hotmail needs to be horsewhipped for putting thier customers through this.

One day you're sending and receiving messages

Then you can't access anything. The inconvenience  of everyone having you email address taken away from you

people have sent me emails and don't realise that I can't see them

It is time for Microsoft to face thier Social Responsiviness..

I have also been blocked and my sister who is a Lawyer recons that we should all take this to court as with this much bad publicity and the chane of getting sued will force them to give us access to our info.

I have a hotmail account that has some very very important, meaningful, and sentimental documents on it.  I have tried every way - including doing the "hotmail reset" set of questions to no avail.  I called hotmail.  I believe I called the country of India.  This person could not help me.  I am so frustrated I have cried over this.  

WHAT IS BEING DONE AGAINST MICROSOFT ABOUT BLOCKING HOTMAIL ACCOUNTS??? THIS DEFFIENTLY LEGAL ACTION SHOULD BE TAKEN AGAINST MICROSOFT. THIS MUST BE A SCAM!!!! I AM A 62 YEAR OLD, WHO IS DYING FROM CANCER, I ALSO IN JANUARY 2012 SUFFERED 2 BLOOD CLOTS IN MY BRAIN, 2 BLOOD CLOTS, 1 IN EACH LUNG, & A HEART ATTACK. I HAVE ALL MY EMAIL ADDRESSES IN MY HOTMAIL ACCOUNT, I HAVE NOTHING WRITTEN DOWN, & MY HOTMAIL ACCOUNT IS BLOCKED. THIS IS A SIN!!!! I BELIEVE THIS IS A BIG SCAM, & SHOULD BE TAKEN TO COURT!!!! CAX

My son has had a hotmail accout for years for his xbox live. The other day he could not log in. I have tried through xbox live and also hotmail to recover password but all are saying not enough evedance. Spoke to xbox live again today and they say that someone has tampered with his email. They still do not think that he can recover it. My son is devistated it has took him years of Birthdat and Christmas money to build up his Xbox profile and achievements. Feel so sorry for him. All Hotmail account holders should be warned and given the chance to change companies. And hotmail should be shut down. I am so angry that they can get away with treating people like this and also children

I offered Microsoft to send my scanned ID, gave them telefonenumbers, called their helpdesk and explained, asked them to check my IP adress, which is the same for years. But nothing helps, they keep sending messages that my informatin is insufficient. I lost all my emails and emailadresses. Desaster!! I live in the netherlands but i hope i can find a US lawyer to sew them

Ive had the same issues as everyone else but in my case mine is way worse because someone actually is using the info on my account and has hacked into my credit cards and now I have outstanding charges on things I never even bought! If anyone gets a lawyer for this Im in.

My account was blocked because it was hacked and when I try to reset it, the same error message appears!! I've been HOURS trying to find somewhere I can contact tech support, but NOTHING. I have my account linked to websites i am a member of and I have important e-mails in it. I can't even acces MSN and chat with friends anymore. And did I get any help? NO. Their customer support is terrible, they just try to avoid having to help the customers. They are so terrible

They are asking for things that scamers or hackers ask for, like a credit card number, contacts, emails sent. Really, they have set themselves up to be hacked or to get a virus, because they have been blocked from the public, so no one can contact them to report whats going on. Then they will cry "why didn't anyone tell us".

I am so disappointed, angry and frustrated about this whole Hotmail mess.  I followed their directions and got nowhere.  I received an initial message on my cellphone that "Smokey" had tried to log into my Facebook account and that I needed to change my password, which I did.  The message then stated that for security reasons, I should change my e-mail password.  I did that, as I have done before in past years.  After that, I only got into my Hotmail account once.  Since then it has blocked me, and I have gotten absolutely NO help from Hotmail to resolve this problem.  This is disgraceful!  How is it that a hacker can get into my account and I cannot??  Hotmail had better come up with something or they will find themselves out of business, as thousands of people are going to get away from them.  I hate the thought of losing all of the information I have in that account, and it's beyond ridiculous that I have been dealing with this since May or June, and have gotten nowhere.  HOTMAIL, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND GET THIS ISSUE RESOLVED!!!  GIVE US A CONTACT NUMBER TO TALK TO AN ACTUAL HUMAN AND GET SOMETHING DONE!!!

I, like many of you, have had a hotmail account for over 15 years. I noticed a couple of emails sent from my account trying to seel folks I know Viagra. They sent two emails from my account. I changed my password and the email stopped. I was able to access the account for a month or so and then hotmail shut me down stateing I had put the wrong password in too many times. I am guessing the computer sending the emails from my account was still trying to access the account with the old password. I have tried to reset the password after they blocked the account and now the system will not even let me try that anymore. They are telling me I do not know the name of my dog. The best solution they have give is th set up the microsoft Live account. I am wondering if the are trying to phase out hotmail to the new platform? If so they are doing it the wrong way. NO MORE microsoft. In fact i will be upgrading to a MAC for my next computer.

I have had the same issues as you all.  I have followed all the instructions MSN have given me, the codes sent to my cell phone, and the resetting of my passwords...all to no avail and no real human person to speak to.  I too have had my email address forever and all my contacts and important folders are connected to my hotmail address.  Why can't we get help when we need it.  Why can't I access and recover my email account after almost 4 days down.  This is unacceptable.  What the heck is going on??

I thought I was the only one Hotmail had screwed over. Have used the same address/account for more years than i want to think about and then suddenly cannot get my information, contact list or messages from friends and family. Should hasve backed it up, I guess, ao all the info was not lost, at least. I agree that everyone they did this to needs to get together and give Microsoft's high paid attorneys something to do. I doubt Bill Gates lost any of his information.

The same problem. I've had my hotmail account for over10 years and 2 days ago my account was blocked. Firstly I went round and round in circles with the links they provided as support. They had 3 options, reset password, have a code sent to an alternate email address and recover account. I have tried all 3. I changed my password but when I try to sign in it goes to a security page - start the circle again. The alternate email address they provided for me was the wrong one so I could not get a code. I'm still waiting on a response to the recover account post I've submitted. I have sooo much information on this account and rely on it, I don't think it's unreasonable to trust your email account although I'm not sure I'll be staying with hotmail. Hotmails FACEBOOK page posts regularly on their page about how great they are - I encourage everyone to post on their page to kick up some dust!!

I have read all the postings I am in agreement with all of you!! HOTMAIL SUX!! I have had hotmail for years and years, like many of you, I received the notice about being so called hacked and blocked. I did everything that the stupid screen tells you to do, but as all of you know, it took us for merry-go-round and IT DOES NOT WORK!!

I have had this same accout for over 10 years and i get blocked.  I did everything they suggested for me to be unblocked with no success.  The contact info i gave for me to have the code sent to was my e-mail address which i am blocked from therefore i was unable to retrieve it.  I now have years of personal information that is now lost or unretrievable.  There is no customer support you can ask question to live support without being signed in.  How can you sign in if you are Block!  I am switching to G-mail ASAP.

jesus i never came across something like this ,i put all my trust in hotmail andthis what i get,i used hotmail for everything work contacting persons stuff and all of a sudden some person come and closes my account ,and the worst is you can get hold of no one for help then you go in that stupid help centre and all you get is crap can someone tell me whats happening cos still i cannot understand who gives them the right to do something like this

this is a start. i want to gather with others. get the word out on search engines. their are thousands of people this has happened to. the only chance we have is to unite. we need a web site so people can gather and check on the status..Lets unite someone that has the resources build a site get the word out here, put calling cards on search engines we can start here!!! i want to sue the bastards!!!!!

Have been hacked and my contacts are being asked for money as I am "in Africa"(not) Hotmail are very very difficult to get hold of to close my account. If I do as their sites and help state the password change goes to the hackers site not me  round and round we go since friday Have recd a PIN and temp user for a 'forum chat ' big deal thats a waste of time. DOES any one know how to close a hotmail account when you cannot access your hotmail account and I mean without paying an 'online tec@ £28 deposit.

I have tired several times to log into my Hotmail account and all I keep getting is "Password is Required".  I am putting in the correct password....this is a shame...I have important documents within Hotmail.....You would think that a company that makes billions would help their customers with obtaining and recovering their accounts...I am very disappointed with this service.....former customer since 1999.

There are apparently being very apathetic to the fact that their screw-up has cost many, many people to lose a great deal of important information, documents, and photographs!  Not to mention, entire contact lists.  Sue those suckers!!!!

I also am one of the ""lucky "" ones that had her account hacked or locked by hotmail this past weekend . I have been a customer with hotmail for Years ( as far back as can remember ,, I think it is a poor setup on how they treat their customers ,. extremly poor support , i dont know how many time i have writen the support ""team "" and keep getting told the information i sent them is incorrect ,,,,  well guess i lost all my important information ... they just lost another customer ....unless i can get my account back in 2 days ,,,,,,

I too have not been able to go into my account.  someone hacke in my account some pharmaceutical company is sending male enhancement material to everyone in my address book.  I can't close the account. or do anything because my password doesn't work...I hate hotmail!!!!

I've been a hotmail customer ever since my first computer, and suddenly, with the purchase of a laptop I'm told that my account is no longer available to me.  All the information and contacts have been lost, and when I was given a telephone number to call I was told there was nothing to be done.  What a way to run a business
