Never send your laptop to Acer for repairs

Boycott Description

First off, I will never again buy anything made by Acer.  I sent my laptop into the company for 3 simple repairs.  It needed a new battery, the disc drive tray stopped working and came completely off and one of the keys did not work on the keyboard.  When it was sent to Acer  it still worked, sure I had to keep it plugged to the charger and I could not run a disc, but everything else was in perfect working order.  When it was finally returned to me it came back in pieces and many pieces were even missing.  They lost my bag that they received with it and when I had a local repair shop put it back together it would not come on even when plugged to the charger.  Also, it will no longer close, when you fold the screen down there is still a 1 inch gap between the screen and keyboard.  You would almost think someone had run over it with a semi.  I called Acer and they said they were unable to rapair it because there was liquid damage under the keyboard.  When I explained that my complaint was the condition in which it was returned I was told they would fix all that IF I paid them $200 plus $40 shipping fees even though it was and still is under warrenty.  They very bluntly and rudely refused to replace the bag which they had lost or to replace, refund or repair a computer they destroyed.  When I requested to speak with someone higher up in position they refused to let me speak with a manager or supervisor.  They pretty much reminded me of grammer school bully who steals lunches and bikes from other children and will only return them if the weaker person gives them money or allows the bully to beat them up.

Boycott Demands

!. If an item can not be fixed it should be returned in the condition in which it was received.

2. If an item is broken or lost while in Acer's possetion, it should be repaired or replaced for no additional charge.

I sent in my monitor that did not work after three months of use to ACER. They returned it to me and said that there was nothing wrong with it. How could they say that and The monitor turns on and I get only dimmed light on the corner of the screen? They said I would have to pay for shipping if I send it in again for the same problem. What kind of company and warranty is this? Never buy ACER.

i have had my acer for about two years now . if it hasnt been in its box for months (unable to use ) its been off to repair. at this point i cant use the wifi because the windows vista is bad and this is after repairs and a new hard drive. its just a bad product that should not be on the market...

I'm with you. I bought a new laptop from Stapels,whom I am not happy with either, I had it for about 3 weeks and it went bad. I called Stapels and they said it was only gurenteed for 14 days. 14 DAYS GIVE ME A BREAK.  So I contacted Accer and after 3 calls which they tried to fx it over the phone they finally said I would have to send it in and I would have to pay for it.  I just paid almost $700.00 for a new laptop and I had to pay $45.00 to send it back. Well I called them several times and they said they received iytt and sent it out.  They say tomorrow I should be getting it. I better because it has been over a mo. That they have had it. When they say 3 to 7 days don't believe them. I asked today what was wrong and it sounds like they put a whole new insides in it.  I do know  they put a new hardrive and a new mother board and a bunch of other things that I have no idea what they were. II WILL NEVER GET ANYTHING MORE FROM ACCER AND I WILL NOT SHOP STAPELS EITHER. I am very upset over this whole deal. I should have stuck with HP as I have never had a problem with them.  Jan
