Verizon shouldn't reward the Eagles for signing Michael VickBoycott Description
The Philadelphia Eagles have recently signed Michael Vick who is the admitted organizer of a major dog fighting syndicate. Vick has admitted strangling, electrocuting and drowning dogs that either lost in a vicious fight or were too injured to fight again. He did 2 years in federal prison, and within just a few weeks of being released the Eagles gave him a contract which could amount to over $7 million! Verizon is one of largest sponsors of the Eagles.Boycott Demands
We will boycott Verizon Wireless until they pull their sponsorship of the Eagles. By remaining as a sponsor, Verizon is indirectly condoning Michael Vick's actions and even helping to pay his outrageous salary. Verizon needs to remove it's affiliation with the Eagles until Vick is no longer on the team.Advertisements

Company responses
There has only been 1 good thing to come of his notoriety and that of course has been to bring this unthinkable act commited by a human(?) on a defenceless animal out in the spot light. The only 1 good thing about his high salary is that a portion and I don't know how much is donated to animal abuse charities. I do hope it's @ least 50% or more. Other than that I agree w/above comment he should have recieved some of his methods of discipline, and even that wouldn't be enough for me. Fry him the day he retires.

Are you serious? Dogs in most countries are FOOD--the US is like the only country that domesticates animals and share a 'huma-like' bond. If any of you 'Vick' haters believe in GOD or any other 'Higher Power', you would know that 'NO sin is greater than another', so that lie you told your boss--you know the one that you called out sick and you really weren't, still holds the same weight as Vick's supposed 'sin'!
Aside from the aformentioned, I love dogs and as an American citizen I've been socialized to believe that dogs 'are my friend'--not intended for fighting or consumption. BUT, at the same time, Vick is human, and like the rest of us he makes mistakes. Maybe he has changed, maybe he hasn't--BUT as imperfect human beings ourselves we are obligated to give him the benefit of the doubt--that is unless you are of course perfect..... If that is indeed the case, hello Jesus!!!
boycott verizon. I dont care about any sports endorsement. Verizon is partly owned by britain. 49% of revenue goes to britain from our hard earned american money at time of recession. Go to AT&T or Sprint... they are true blooded american company.
The man's an athletic masterpiece, I hope more companies will follow suit and relize that the man has paid his debt to society and he should be held in no higher or lower regard than those around him...
Lets get the the real point here, you just can't handle your cell phone provider using a black man to sell phones... Racist pigs
PRO BOWL BABY! THANK ANDY REID, VERIZON, CHEVY, AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO SUPPORTED VICK!!!!!!! LOVE HIM. SURE I WOULDN'T HIRE HIM AS A DOGGY SITTER, BUT THE MAN CAN PASS AND RUN. JUST RENEWED MY CONTRACT.
Look, I dislike Verizon. I also like Michael Vick. I dislike dogfighting. But seriously, Vick already spent time in jail for his crime. He's also helping out PETA. If he's paid his price, understood why he's paid it, and is trying to make amends, then how much longer should he be punished? And Verizon's advertising with the Eagles could be seen as an endorsement of Vick's new public image (none of us can know what he does or thinks in private), not of his previous public image (the dogfighter). I won't be joining this particular boycott, much as I can think of plenty of other reasons to boycott Verizon.
I use to work for Verizon in one of its call centers. I was told I was "too nice" on the phone. That if people just kept talking after the reports were complete to just tell them I was hanging up. And was told I shouldn't have marked one report as a medical emergency when a blind man who lived alone had no phone service. I lasted less than 3 months and I quit. I was in tears before going to work everyday.
I just switched to Sprint's 4G network in Philadelphia. It's far superior to Verizon's anyway. I vote with my wallet.
Leave the man alone. He did his time and hurts about what he had done. Evidently, you didn't watch the preview of his life that made him think that he was right. Now, that he know he's wrong. He's doing everything to make it right by lecturing to others about the wrong of animal abuse. You always trying to pull skeletons out of others closets, what's in yours. Keep covering your head and your feet will soon show. You can forgive but, you don't have to forget.

Having been in rescue for approximately 30 yrs. What Michael Vick did is disgusting, and regardless of his puny sentence served, he is a threat to society. As far as I am concerned a person who would raise dogs to fight to the death, and had what 50 dead dogs buried in his backyard, could be dangerous period. Glad Vick is out of Texas however PA is not pleased they have him either.
He should have been barred from playing ever again as fans (many children) should not be exposed to such a corrupt person serving as a role model for fans. If Verizon endorses Vick then I don't endorse Verizon. They need to be a bit choosier as to who they endorse.
Tiger Wood's may be a ladies man; however he is being punished far worse then Vick was for this. I don't endorse Wood's actions; yet he didn't kill for profit....huge difference for sports fans....
Vick served his time. Let him be able to make a living.
Seriously. I live in the area Vick commited these crimes. He has a house less then a mile from me even.
He is trying to straighten himself out. Give him the chance to have a life.
if u want real support for this go to myspace & facebook. i found this by accident but support it 100%

I don't have verizon, but I wanted to show my support. I'd rather see Vick the death penalty than be out of prison already and back in the NFL.
Vick is a piker. Where is the Owl boycott of the meat industry, which mistreats animals by the millions, for billions of dollars.
Animals and children who cant defend themselves need us to rally and do the right thing.........which apparently the Eagles dont give a damn about. money ,money money, money....pigs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A lifetime (40+ yrs.) of Eagles fandom destroyed by one slash of the pen as Michael Vick signs on as an Eagle. There are many like me.
Front office saw a chance to get a famous player CHEAP. They refuse to pay for talent sacrificing ethics for money.
I hope it bites them in the a$$ - a big pitbull-sized bite!
Everyone should boycott the Eagles for signing Vick.Neither Verizon or any company or any association should not have anything to do with Vick. I used to be a fan and since this outrageous animal cruelity acts were committed against poor helpless animals Vick should still be in jail and/or thrown out of this country.Dog crap is worth more than he is. HE IS NOT EVEN HUMAN!!!!!!!!!
Vick is only sorry he was caught. Go to
http://www.sackvick.net/
I can only hope that someone on the team that plays the Eagles will get the chance to knock Vick's head off. Maybe they could just break his neck so he can spend the rest of his dog killing life unable to ever move again. What a worthless piece of crap.
Mike Vick is a convicted felon of a violent crime. McDonalds wouldn't hire him so why did the Eagles?
I have a little puppy dog. Who i treat as one of my children. What is wrong with these people. He does not deserve the respect to let him profit any money.
take that 7 million and give to the Humane Society
MICHAEL VICK BELONGS IN A FN CAGE!!!!
AND I CAN NOT ASSOCIATE WITH A COMPANIE WHO SPONSORS HIM!
HES NOT SORRY HE DID IT... HE IS SORRY HE GOT CAUGHT!!

Couldn't agree more. Verizon should have some modicum of corporate responsibility and stop sponsoring the Eagles and any other group associated with Michael Vick. I guess it's already been 2 years and many people have forgotten the pictures of his dogs that were rescued and those that didn't make it. Disgusting.
Verizon Wireless has not responded to this boycott yet.
