Boycott of Spirit Airlines

I am a spirit flyer memeber.  I have used this airlines many times in the past.  I flew them again last week and was appauled at the hidden fees that I needed to pay at the airport.  $90. in addition to my ticket for a carry on bag.  $3.00 for a bottle of water.  Charges for seats.  I booked this flight thinking I was getting a good deal but when adding all the hidden fees I could have used a Delta flight out of PBIA, 10 min. from my home instead of driving to Ft. Lauderale which added on additional fees.

Don't think I will be using this airline in the future.

Be upfront in your charges Spirit!

Just finsished my first and last roundtrip with SPIRIT. Boy was it horrible. Cost more than others after the 2 carry ons added 160 dollars and then the back pain from the uncomfortable non reclining seats. Rude personnel and their self checkin service didnt work and totally screwed us. Stay away from this airline unless you like being uncomforatble and totally ripped off!!!!

I used to have the same attitude as Jared, the author of this blog. However...

After many years as a loyal Spirit customer, enduring the indignities associated with their "cheap fares", I am parting ways with Spirit for good.

Spirit has "expired" the 27K miles I earned, representing 5 one-way reward trips, because I did not use the credit card associated with my Free Spirit account -- even though I had just paid the $59 annual fee to keep the credit/Free Spirit account.

So, Spirit, keep your rude attendants, your dirty, uncomfortable non-reclining seats, your downright nasty ticket agents, your non-accessible (do it on the web) "customer service", your we-backed-out-of-the-gate-on-time-therefore-we're-not-late-sitting-on-the-tarmac-for-2-hours attitude, and let's not forget your ridiculous fees for everything from carry-on bags to toilet paper.

I can't wait to see you elbowed out of Atlantic City by another airline who will actually respect its paying customers.
