Sears/A@E doesnt care

As a former employee I can say first hand that this company is only interested in your money not your satisfaction.  I could fill pages as to the bad and nearly criminal practices of A@E.  If there is way to screw you be assured it will be used.  Do yourself a favor and stay as far away from sears/a@e as you can.  Call a third party that is qualified to repair your appliance because they care if their business and repairs are of high quality.  At A@E you are just another sucker to bleed dry.

Poor customer service

I was unable to complete a purchase because their site would not accept the password for my new Shop My Way account. After three unsuccessful attempts to reset the password, I contacted customer service at 10:30 PM. I was told it would take 1-2 hours to be able to log in. I told the CSR I would have to try to log in the next day because it was too late for me to stay up another hour or two. The next day the major part of my purchase had gone from $517.00 sale price to $1544.99! When I called to request that they honor the sales price because it was their technical difficulty that made me unable to complete the transaction I got some runarounds about inventory and the cart not reflecting that the item was out of stock. They checked with their supervisor and could not honor the sale price expired the day before. I understand policies but the lame "reasons" they give which have nothing to do with the actual difficulties you explain are insulting. I will no longer invest my money in Sears; I will be closing my account.

Sears are crooks and unethical

Sears sent me the wrong product, custom blinds they say on their website are not returnable.  i paid for them, then got the correct ones but they billed me again.  I protested for three reasons: they made the mistake, they say no returns, I purchased online so I would NOT have to go into the City to their store.  My fight has been going on since June and most of my emails have not been responded to.  On their website they claim "Guaranteed Customer Satisfaction".  What a crock!  They can't even satisfy my simple demands for a $57 refund!  How can you satisfy customers when you don't respond to their emails? I've since complained online to Gripevine and the BBB of Ontario (Sears Canada head office).  They are IGNORING THOSE TOO!  Such jerks, no common sense.  I will never buy from them again.  Ever.

they refuse to stand behind their products

purchased a kenmore elite gas range model 775.  in 2 years the controller board failed TWICE.  the technician said i was "lucky to get a year out of the controller."  it's a $350 repair.

ok - one time is acceptable.  twice is PRODUCT DEFECT and there should have been a recall.  sears, however, remained aloof and offered to waive the service fee of $72.  the refused, despite vehement, although respectful, objection from me.

they rejected my product reviews, though i only said that "the controller failed twice in two years."

i will NOT purchase another sears appliance.

too bad sears doesn't honor their appliances like they do craftsman tools.

Intentional neglect

SeArs will neglect major customer complaints, hoping the customer will just give up.  It is worse trun going through the home loan modification process. Don't give up,fight them to the end. The CONSUMER is Entitled to sound and reliable products.  As the middleman, sears reticle railed needs to support their customers and not blow them off until they give up the fight.  I will ne'er return to a sears store after 40plus years as a dedicated customer. I have never felt so insignificant as sears blue ribons victor and lindsey made me feel.

Americans put out of work by Sears

ABC news just had a report of small manufacturing plant put out of business bySears' business practices. An American inventor had his invention, six-sided wrench, manufactured in his small town.  Sears was given nearly a monopoly on selling the item.  This year Sears didn't give the company any orders.  The reason was that Sears was selling a rip-off of the invention under the Craftsman  brand manufactured in China.  Way to go SearsS!

SearCard

I want to share this with all of my Friends, Classmates and all who may have a “Sears MasterCard”.  Sears has implemented a payment policy that may surprise you. If you make early payments or multiple payments on your account to pay it off, they will post the payment and bring your balance to zero but hold the money for 10 days or more. You cannot use your card even though they (Sears) have received the funds from your bank. Basically they are using your money to make money. This should be illegal as far as I’m concerned but the real way to get even is to discontinue using their so called “Service”. They make money from all the merchants and interest charged to the consumer. Now they want to make Money by blocking your funds for almost 2 weeks at a time? It doesn’t make sense to me because the more transactions, the more money they make or so I thought. Sears must be making more money by using our money for the 10 days. I myself have paid off the account and will NEVER use their So called Service again. The only way for consumers to fight back is to Fight Back! Forward this to anyone and everyone. Let it go Viral. We send so many frivolous emails, pictures and jokes. Send something that matters. Get a credit card from a reputable company that will provide real Customer Service. Not one from Sears that takes advantage of it so called customers. I got this card for my son Scottie who is 13. We used this account for his Dirt Bike Business. He is quite the Mechanic and can fix and modify any bike. As his business grew he would hit his credit limit and have to buy more parts so the only way to do that is to pay off the card early to keep the business moving. Since Sears started doing this it has put Stop to the supply chain! I know, you’re like “What”? It’s true! Sears would rather take his hard earned money from a 13 year old and hold it for weeks and make money with it somehow. Weird isn’t it? Contacting Sears Customer Support is like Useless. It’s all scripted e-mails with nothing but stall tactics. It’s too easy to see what they are doing. Scott works too hard for his money as do all of us hard working people to be taken advantage of. It’s a matter of Right and Wrong. Decency and Respect. It may not be illegal what Sears is doing but as Consumers we can voice our opinions and most of all Choose whom we do Business with. Please forward this to all the Hard Working People who have a Choice to do the Right Thing. Spend your Hard earned Money with a Company that will work Hard for You! Not a Company that takes advantage of you like Sears MasterCard.   Respectfully, Richard Stevens

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My name is Stephanie, and I will not be Anonymous

On Jan.2,2012, only the second day of the New Year, I and my family and friends came to Sears to buy a nice ring for my daughter as a later Christmas gift. The help that we received from Ms. Brown the cashier was very nice, even though the computer went down and we had to wait for over a half hour she was still trying to make sure that we were alright. She even called for help a couple of time and no one came. She called again then Laura the manager came over and got the computer working again, she even gave us 10% more off on the right and told me to call Sears and get my points. We did that the next day and Sears sent me 2 coupons. One for $5 off on $50 or more purchase and another giving me 20% more of on my purchase. I called Sears and the lady told me that I can still use the coupons and get my daughters ring out that I laid away the night before. I traveled very far to be threaten by Sharie the asst. manager at store number 1884 in King Of Prussia, screaming and yelling at me in front of my family, that I can not use my coupons because the clearance item had 10% taken off of it already from a coupon that She thought that I had brought in, The more that I explained to her that I never had a coupon the louder she got, to the point that I told her to stop screaming at me, I am not a dog, and I want to speak to her boss, well she started once again, this time saying that she is the boss and she is over the whole store and that No One can do anything about her. So I said give me Headquarters phone number. She screamed out 1-800-4=my-home, I said what, I asked again, this time she took some paper from the register and wrote the number, then I asked for her name being as I was going to call this number while standing there in the store, she wrote it down, then she stayed their looking in our face like she wanted to fight or do something, but we kept our selves very composed, and started speaking to the lady named Cheryl from the 1 800 number. Oh I almost forgot one thing, there was a ink pen on the counter on the left side of me, I picked it up to write down what the lady on the phone was telling me, while the pen was in my hand, Sharie tried to take it from me and I told her not to touch me and when I am finished writing I will put it back where I got it from. So she watched me, which like I said before she acted as if she wanted to fight. Now the crazy es thing that happened that night was if that was one of us acting like she was acting, some one would have called 911 or store security would have came to though us out of the store. But No One came to shut her up at all or to tell her to calm down. So the lady on the phone called the store to speak to her, but before that someone else let her no that Sharie was acting like some was wrong with her, like she was mad about something. To me you would this there was something else going on. Sharie got on the phone and told the lady that she as not giving me anything and that No One could make her, see we were standing there as she spoke to the lady on the phone. I spoke back to the lady on the phone and she had me to then ask who was over Sharie , she said that it was Charles Stevens, then she told us that next in charge was Joe and David V, at store 1884 in King Of Prussia. For three days now this has been going on, and the more that I ask how to get in touch with Mr, Louis D'Ambrosio the CEO of Sears, I am told that he will not speak to the public unless he is forced to by lawyers. Unbelievable is what this is. I was treated very nasty, talked to very nasty and was told that there will be nothing that I can do on this matter. To add to all this mess the store manager wrote a email to the customer service telling them that now I was satisfied with a store card and that the case is now close, his name was Charles Stevens. I never told him that. What I did tell him was that I want satisfaction and I asked him what was he going to due about it, and he told me that I would have to go back to headquarters for all else because he can not due anything, When I called headquarters they told me that he is one over the store and that he can do what ever is needed to solve this problem before it goes higher up. Now before I go I will give you a list of numbers that I was given by others around town that is also tired of being mistreated by Sears and no body seems to be doing anything about it. I called 1-847-286-2500, the so called executive branch which is really called the Blue Ribbon Device Team that I was told later they only handle appliances. Spoke to a man named Micheal Schmitz. He told me that he will call me in 48 hours and tell me what is going to be done. Well when he called me today Jan.5,2012, He was shouting over the phone in my ear that he decided not to do anything about what had happened, I stopped him from talking by saying what hold on, I told everyone in my home to turn off the TV and music and listen to what was being said, I then told Michael Schmitz that he was now on speaker for everyone to hear what he was saying to me and how he was speaking. He repeated that nothing will be done and that he and his team has agreed to it and they will not be doing anything to her about the way she was acting and there was nothing that I can do about it and he was told that I was going to write Mr. Louis J. D'Ambrosio, and that if I do he will intercept all emails, letters as well as calls. The only thing that I can do if I can afford it, is to call a lawyer and my lawyer will have to talk to the Sears legal dept. Now through research I will be able to get in touch with one of the CEO's. Everyone needs to know that the reason why Michael Schmitz and others talk the way that they do is because all calls and letters seems to all be going to Sears Headquarters at 3333 Beverly Road, Hoffman Estate, IL 60179, Fax: 1-847-2886-8351/ phone 1-847-286-2500. I believe that the Better Business Bureau or someone. Because I will not let this ride. Then later tonight Michael Schmitz called me again saying that he will not change is mine on help us and I told him very nicely, to stop calling my home and that I will get help. And he was calling from the Sears Texas number 1-512-248-7700, I like caller ID, don't you? I called 18005494505, 16664499815,18004694663,18007623049 and many more number. Also on of the 800 number put me back to the store and I spoke to a lady by the name of Francis, operation manager of store 1884, She told me that she did not know what was going one, but she was told not to speak to me about anything at all and that the Corps. will be handling the matter. This is so crazy that they are thinking that they will get away with all of this. I was told that we should get together and Picket Sears and even call the news and get them involved. They do not mine taking our money to stay in business, nor do they mine treating customers less then they treat animals. And I believe that we treat our animals better!! Happy New Year and this year will be better than the way it started, I believe!!

Run by morons

Sears Holdings is a joke, it's run by a bunch of idiotic penny pinching stock investors. The CEO was educated at one of the best schools in the country, yet he knows nothing about running a large business. He keeps investing in meanless stock endeavors and ignores expanding the company product bases, updating stores and building new store, and like many other people have said the new Sears (which is owned by Kmart now) sucks, and they (mostly Kmart) treat their employees like crap. I knew a guy who worked at a Kmart for over 40 years and had never once received a promotion, and he was rarely scheduled for than a couple of days a week. The hell with this company, they dug their own grave with their bad investing and bad customer service, it's kinda sad to see the old man(sears) go, but I think it's time for them to throw in the towel if they aren't going to cut the investment bs and address the real problems with their company.

Fraudulent Charges

Sears fraudulently charged my account 3 times and held my money for a week before returning it to my bank account.  I had to threaten Sears with a lawsuit, before my money was redeposited into my account, with overdraft charges charged to my account.  These Reps are so rude..especially when they know they're wrong.  My Bank told me they could have stopped those charges immediately, but chose to hold my money for a week.  As of this week, we will be paying off our account, and never again, will my family be a consumer of Sears.

I found out from a guy in the Sears store that when you call for an installation ETA, they don't actually call anyone to find out.  They put you on hold and then come back and say "There just wrapping up and will be right there".  The delivery guys comfirmed this as well as the customer service department for Sears.

A 9/11 Sale, seriously

Sears is having a 9/11 sale. You read that right. They are calling it one of their "friends & family" sales, but they JUST announced it to their employees today, two weeks before 9/11. It was intentionally scheduled for that day. Our local store's manager was quoted as saying "Most people will be home watching the news, it's a good opportunity to bring them into the store & boost sales" I have also heard that several employees flat out refused to work the "special" sale. Using the 10th anniversary of national tragedy to "boost" sales? Sears makes me sick. BOYCOTT BOYCOTT BOYCOTT

DISAPPOINTED

The two year old dishwasher I bought at Sears will cost so much to fix, that I might as well buy a new one. I went to Sears in North Windham , Ct. and talked to the salesman and the manager. They just laughed at me and said it was my problem. They said I should have spent another $100 and bought the service contract. Since I spoke to them I have seen a lot of complaints against Sears for their lousy service, so I don't think the service contract would have helped me - I still wouild have had to buy the $300 part for the Whirlpool.

Sears will never get my business again.

Sears Appliance Service Sucks

5 year old fridge/freezer.  Freezer is broken.  Temp will not go up even on highest setting.

Call in.  $75 bucks plus parts and labor or for $250 I can buy a year of service from them (mine expired...they made out like a bandit on that).

I chose the 250 option thinking the fix would cost me no less than half of that and at least I'd have protection for another year.

They charge my card...then call to tell my wife it will be 2 WEEKS before they can come out.  2 WEEKS!  So not only am I out 200 bucks in rotten food, but now 250 bucks in services fees plus a 2 week wait.  I stay home from work (another set of $$ lost due to my time) to wait for them.  NO SHOW!  They call later that night saying they cannot make it and to call them and reschedule.  So we now have to call them to fix their screw up.

Call back.  2 more WEEKS!!  Now we are at 1 month.

200 in bad food

252 for services

200 for a lost day of time

200 for a second lost day due to their screw up

100 in extra groceries due to not being able to buy things I can freeze for the month

Saying Sears sucks and they just lost a customer...priceless.

Really....SEARS??

I don't know what type of financial trouble Sears is in, but I had a $2500 limit with them. I only got the card to buy my home appliances, electronics etc. Let's face it clothing/jewelry at SEARS is a NO! They're behind the times when it comes to dressing women. (o.k, so) I bought a t.v and a refrigerator , which are now PAID off and I was NEVER late on my payments. I've had their credit card for about 15yrs. So I guess they just decided to take an entire 0 off my limit. Cut me down to $250 limit. WTH? $250.00 I can pay that much in CASH!

I bought a dvd player and it arrived broken. Sears told me although I purchased it on their site and they charged it to my Sears card the product came from an outside vendor so they couldn't help. They gave me the phone number of the business the dvd player came from and the person I needed to speak to was always out of the office. Today I received a letter from Sears saying they considered the matter closed and if I didn't pay my bill it would end up on my credit report. Judging by the comments I've seen online I am surprised they are still in business.

Sears/A&E factory service

Sears Holding Company

… Not interested in quality of service

Denver, Colorado. Sears District 8181 (Sears/A&E Factory Service) which encompassing the front range of Colorado and the state of Wyoming. SHLD employees approximately 150 Service Technicians, 40 Support Associates.

The IBEW Local 68 has been in negotiations since March 2010. The subjects listed below are in order of concern selected by the bargaining unit of Sears District 8181.

  1. Training
  2. Safety
  3. Code of excellence
  4. Wages
  5. Terms and conditions of employment
  6. Language changes and additions
  7. Job classifications and Technicians Pay Levels

Training was the main concern in response to a survey submitted by the associates. The Union Bargaining committee proposed a “3 year” apprenticeship or certification program in which the company rejected because the company felt training provided by the company   was sufficient. This apprenticeship/certification program would have benefited the Company, Technician and Consumer. Frank Mufic Sears District 8181 service manager stated that each technician was allocated 82 hrs training per year. The cost of training though the IBEW at its training facility would have been $.37 per worked hour saving the company approximately $400.00 per technician, per year. This proposal rejected on the first pass.

IBEW Code of Excellence is a code in which the technician and company are obligated to a set of ethics that are designed to benefit the Consumer, Associate and Company. The Code of Excellence would assure the consumer that the technician are properly trained and is supplied with the proper tools to perform his duties as a technician. This proposal was also rejected on the first pass.

Safety was next on the list of concerns. The Company has a vehicle safety inspection which we applaud. Here is the catch. The technicians wanted language injected into the contract that would allow them to be able to perform their daily safety inspection before they move their vehicle and be compensated for their time. This was rejected on the first pass. The company insisted for the technician to be compensated, the inspections must be performed after the completion of the technician’s first service call. In a previous article in the Commitment Magazine supplied by the corporate offices the technicians are instructed to perform this inspection at the start of their day.  Susan Rapp, along with other corporate staff informed the bargaining committee that this had been a misprint and was overlooked.

Believe it our not wages, listed as the forth concern. Needless to say in these tough economical times there was not much progress in increasing wages. The company also left us with a final offer to remove a “5 year” progression table which allowed new hires to progress at a higher rate then senior technicians. We feel that without this wage progression the quality of service will decline even at a greater rate. Also in this final offer, the company regressed in bargaining. At one time during negotiation the company informed the bargaining committee they had $410,000 budgeted for wage increases and they wanted the Union bargaining committee to come up with a way on how to distribute this amount. The Union committee provided the company a number of ways to achieve this within the budgeted amount. The company’s final offer fell $40,000 short of their proposed budget, to $370,000

My question to the consumer is how can a company be committed to quality service when they show little interest in providing qualified service representatives ?

Sears Service Sucks

I called for warranty work on a $2600 lawn tractor I paid cash for and the repair person scheduled their selected date and time. I took off work and they never called or showed up.  I have talked with many people at sears, the lawn mower is not fixed, the second warranty repair was scheduled and no one showed up and sears says they did not schedule it. Sears has some stupid Managers and senior people in their company who does not know what service is or apparently dont care. I would suggest people buy from Lowes or Home Depot at a cheaper price and more friendly sales people.

Washer water level device

I purchased a Sears washing machine, my 6th, since 1959.
The water level is controled by the weight of the clothes, and does not work.  I had the repairman come out three times, and noe that the ONE year warantee is up, Sears is going to charge me to come out again.  I called the corporate office, and a VERY sarcastic woman sid that "Replacement was not an option".  I Asked to speak to her supervisor, and she said she did not have one.  A very lucky employee...The level control cannot be fixed... My wife is supposed to run to the washer, while it is filling, open the lid, to reset the controller, when it is filling to wash and rinse cycle.  Boy where did the good old Sears go to???Bob Taylor   [email protected]

Discrimination

Sears discriminates against their over age 40 employees - they fire them or reduce their hours to 1 short shift a week and then hire teenagers who won't work or show up  for work on time.  Walk into a store and you will see teenage employees talking on their cell phones and having their friends hanging out - not working at all.  This company talks about diversity but there is no diversity - the managers just want to hang out with teenagers and date them.

I have never experience a company who would lie. I live on a small island and after the 1 went by of the timeline they said the Sears man would be there to fix our washer. He calls, said he was on his way that he was at the menenune food mart. Of course my husband was upset after losing 4 hrs pay. Then the company calls and says he can't come because his van broke down. We drove to the very place and they lied he was not there. I beleive he was drunk. I hired Sears to repair my TV.  The first repair visit (tech arrived 1.5hrs after the 4 hr window) cost $280 and the repair only lasted a week. On the second repair visit, I was charged an additional $238 and the tech took the board for my TV to be repaired.  A return appointment was set up, but a day before this appt, I was called by Sears and informed the board had just been sent for repair.  I cancelled the repair and told them to send my board back and refund my money.  After many transfers and being disconnected twice, they finally agreed to send back my board.  I had another company come and they repaired the board and fixed the TV.  Now Sears is refusing to refund my money, claiming that they did fix the board, which they did not.  They were late for appointments, did not perform the service that they claimed, and were not nice, especially when it came time to ask for a refund.  I will not shop at Sears!  I will continue to find anyway to boycott this store and discourage anyone from shopping or using their service.  They do not care about their customers and do not fulfill agreements for service.  I was charge $519 for a TV repair, that I ended up having to pay someone else additional money to fix!

So basiclly I did not get my rebate for either the washer or the dryer? If that is the case I will now boycott all SEARS and let all my friends and family know how you lied about the rebate. I will make it a priority mission of my life to expose how horrible Sears has become.

Includes The Great Indoors

As the originator of this boycott, I would like to include The Great Indoors (Sears-owned stores) in the boycott. My family bought all of our appliances at The Great Indoors after our house burned down. The microwave has never worked properly. After one warranty service, it broke again. Several phone calls and trips to the store produced no response. they just were not interested after the sale. Buy your appliances somewhere else!

Sears Credit

I am a 40 year Sears Customer. My Father bought from Sears and his Father before him. Their Credit Plan is what built Sears. They have turned over this Department to Citi Bank and is the cause for me to make the decision to give up my Card and never to set foot in a Sears Store again. Citi Bank is ripping off the consumer with their 25% Interest Rate.
