Boycott of RCA

I purchased a DVR home surround system in July 2010 model number RTD325W. It was manufactured in May 2010. It is now May 2011 and it freezes up. I called customer support and was told I had to send it to N.Y. and they would send it to Canada to be possibly be repaired. I purchased it at Wal-Mart. To make matters worse, I would have to pay for shipping and it would take 6-8 weeks. I URGE EVERYONE NOT TO SPEND THEIR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT.

It is illegal for a company to sell a product as new when (such as a TV) when it has been on the market for a long time.  

Im glad mine wasnt a TV but for a disabled mother of 4 children you can imagine how tight finances are. I purchased a remote that cost me 20.00 and it wont switch between vid.1 and vid.2  That is not what upset me. What upset me was how they treated me when I called customer service. They said they couldnt help me because they do not provide help for remotes. I cannot return it because they do not provide returns for remotes so basically i just bought a piece of plastic junk for nothing.

I have bought an mp3 player of theirs and the screen broke but since it wasnt a manufacturer defect they wont fix it. If they wont back up their warranty than what good is a warranty.

NEVER purchase RCA...the customer service is TERRIBLE and you will need it!  TV's horrible!!!!

PLEASE! PLEASE! DON'T EVER BUY RCA!  I WISH I WOULD HAVE RESEARCHED RCA FURTHER BEFORE PURCHASING ONE 2 YEARS AGO...I JUST THOUGHT IT'S NAME SPOKE FOR ITSELF!  I GUESS NOT!  MY LCD 42' NEVER REALLY WORKED PROPERLY FROM THE TIME OF PURCHASE! A BLACK SCREEN WOULD APPEAR WHEN I TURNED IT ON. I HAD TO TURN IT OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON IN ORDER FOR IT TO WORK.  I TRIED TO GET IT REPAIRED BUT UNDER MY WARRANTY BUT THEY GAVE ME THE RUN AROUND FOR A YEAR.  I FINALLY HAD TO MAKE A BBB REPORT AND THEN THEY REPLACE MY TV..I WANTED MY MONEY BACK BUT BBB SAID THERE REPLACEMENT WAS SUFFICIENT..IVE HAD THE REPLACEMENT FOR 3 MONTHS AND I'M SEEING SNOWY LINES ON MY SCREEN.  NOW IT'S BACK TO THE SAME RUN AROUND FOR ANOTHER YEAR! THANKS RCA FOR MAKING ONE OF MY GOALS IN LIFE TO MAKE SURE NO ONE EVER BUYS ANY OF YOUR PRODUCTS EVER AGAIN!
