i PURCHASED 3 Masonite Fiberglass Exterior doors a few months ago from one of there distributors. I had them installed buy a contractor. I went with fiberglass thinking they are maintenance free or require very little maintenance because they dont rust or warp and are well insulated. The doors come primed painted white. Once they were installed, I noticed they did not close or seal properly so I called the distributor. He came out and said the one is warpped. He would relay this to the factory but said since I did not paint them they may not warranty them. Only one was warpped but when the factory man came he said the doors need to be painted and they have to be removed from the pre hung frames so you can paint the door edges as well because there wood. I found they use regular wood on the edges of the doors and not a weather resistant material or even treated material to make it weather proof. I did not buy doors that I need to make weather proof. These are sold as Exterior doors! Also sold as fiberglass doors not wood. They can easily use man made wood that does not need paint or will rot or warp and they can treat the wood edge before it leaves there factory but they dont. There warranty also states the doors must be painted within 45 days, but this door was warrped day one, so why paint it and why should I have to pay to have a new door rehung when I paid for a prehung door. Furthermore, why do I need to make the door weather proof when its an Exterior door or advertised as fiberglass. This is false advertising!!!!!

Boycott Demands

They need to pay to weather proof the doors I bought from them and replace the warrped door or refund my money for the doors and installation so I can buy an exterior door. I bought fiberglass so it would not require much or any maintenance. The only thing they tell you about the wood in the door is its in the door for the door locks and to give the frame strength. It does not say its exposed and has to be painted every few years.
