Spread the word. The technical support is horrible. The "lifetime warranty" expires and they want to charge you for help. The technical support agents work in some other country and you can barely understand them. This would be fine with me but Technical support agents seem to have absolutely no training on products other than routers. Call tech support and ask them questions about network attached storage devices and something other than a basic router and see how much help you get.
Even if you ask about a router ask them for help with something other than hooking up the wires and plugging it in and they blank out or want to charge you money for the information. They want money (minimum 29.99) for things that would take less than 2 minutes to answer. This charge is on top of what they already charged you for the product.
Have english technical support agents speak english fluently rather than the broken/forced form of english they speak.
Don't charge ridiculous fees for password retrieval or information on how to hard reset a modem. Telling a customer how to enter the gateway is, by no means, grounds to charge 30 dollars.
If you want to charge fees for real and technical issues, I stress this again, TRAIN YOUR AGENTS IN ALL ASPECTS OF THE DEVICE THEY SUPPORT!
Don't just train the agents on the main points and then have them stuck like a deer in the headlights when a real technical question comes their way.

Lifetime Warranty is 5 years
Linksys was purchased by Cisco, they don't honor the lifetime warranty, say it is 5 years, have foriegners doing their dirty work of answering phones, half of them can't speak English. Don't buy Cisco products since they screw you over if you have a problem. I'd like to send them some bacon to chew on.

terrible service. their router is the reason why my stuff dont work and they tried charging me $30 for a step by step over the phone, to fix their own mistakes.not to mention the guy im talking to can hardly speak English and i cannot understand a word he said. and he was very rude. reccomended to me to stop using their service then and go somewhere else. i gaurntee you the next router i buy will not be from them.

This co. stinks! I need help getting online from my laptop. I'm pretty bad with computers but have a Linksys router. Called the helpline for asssistance and they told me my warranty had expired. They wanted to charge me $30 for help. Then went on about a new router I can purchase which was $20 more from them than through Amazon (checked as they were yacking on). The whole experience was complete BS. I'm going to buy a Belkin as per some other boycotters suggestion.
I agree with this boycott effort. I deal with technical support frequently and this is be far the worst experience I have had. I could not even pay them to help me for what I believed to be a simple network problem.
Linksys Sucks
Buy Belkin, trust me! Linksys, products suck. They only work when used with other Linksys products. Their customer service reps stumble through thier attempts at fixing, what at heart, is a problem in the hardware. It's crap. I had a belking system in my old house, and never had a problem. When I moved we got Verizon Fios high speed internet, and it came with it's own router, so I didn't need to buy anything. But in the basement rooms, the internet was coming in to weak to be usable, and so I went to Best Buy to purchase a range expander that would work with the signal, and linksys was the only brad available. I called them to make sure the signal and system was compatable, then purchased the unit. I have been on the phone with them, every other month for 2 years, and have spent roughly 10-20 hours on the phone with them in total. Each time, my internet works temporarily afterwords, then fails again a month or two later. They are now sending me a new version of the same model, but warn me it will probably be the same, because I don't have a linksys router. Of course, when I told them that my router came with my Verizon internet, before I had purchased the unit, they told me that it was all compatable. Buy Belkin, you won't regret it. The difference in quality is undeniable. The Belkin units even feel more sturdy, the Linkys unit feels like a fisher price toy, light and fragile.Don't invite the frustration I've had to deal with into your life, DON'T BUY LINKSYS PRODUCTS!
