Yesterday we had purchased a television from Kmart.com. We got the e-mail confirmation that the item was ready to come pick up at the store in Belleville New Jersey. We were instructed to arrive at the store two hours after the order was placed. We got to the store went to the layaway department to retrieve our television. Then out of the blue the manager shows up and claims that are television has been sold. Oh I said could we please have a refund. He said sure follow me to the customer service counter. When we got up there he canceled the online order and said don't worry Your Visa card will not be charged. I on the other hand knew better the Visa card had been charged $320.So he picked up one of the handheld scanners scanned the packing slip and punch in all these numbers and said that should be fine you should have your money back. When I got home and contacted the bank the money had been debited from our account in the amount of $320. I contacted Kmart.com they stipulated that your refund would be processed within 3 to 5 business days. Not only was I not able to get another television but I was also out $320 to spend on my family for Christmas. This was the most atrocious thing I've ever seen during the holiday season.I really wish somebody would write a law that would force Retailers and banks to return money just as fast as they are able to take money. Thank you Kmart for ruining my family's Christmas.
