HSBC is the worst.  On several occasions I have spoken with their customer service reps in attempts to have their billing errors (and more) corrected, but they just keep treating me as though I'm a criminal... first I have to prove who I am, and then I have to take half of the day day to re-explain the situation, re-copy my payment receipts, re-fax them to different people, etc.  Basically  they didn't post my credit card payments until several days later, making it look like the payments were late... then charged late fees plus interest on subsequent statements.  I was told they opened investigations on each of the cases, but then about a month later they had no information on the investigations.... "Go to the branch and speak with the manager" is the latest bunch of bull.  Manager is either never around, or is with a customer or on the phone... what a waste of time and effort. 

Boycott Demands

HSBC needs to begin to:

respect customers and not treat them like criminals,

make themselves more available for help,

admit when they've erred,

fix their errors, and

stop wasting our valuable time.

here in srilanka asking for csutomer service and that too HSBC u need to have money for phone bills and next you should have strong ears to keep hanging on the phone for hours till they pickup.....and after listening to one sentence they put you to hold...they are just useless and should be punished for serving customer who have trusted them with thier money and hard earned cash.

I guess they would never let costomers know about the closing penalty when opening the accounts.

I lost my iphone. My identity has been stolen. After that, I got an email saying that I had a new checking account from HSBC. I want to close that account immediately. I talked to HSBC rep(s) (all of them from India). They all said I need to pay $25 for closing the account too soon.
Even I'm a loyal customer to you for at least 3 yrs, I still need to pay the penalties. I feel unfair and insult when I consulted with HSBC reps. Before this happened,
I felt happy with your customer services. But now I feel very uncomfortable asking for help.  I am closing all my accounts too.
