My experience with GE Money began back in December when I purchased a Walmart MoneyCard to use for online purchases. When I attempted to activate the card online, my address could not be verified and therefore I was unable to recieve a permanent card. I called them and was told by a representative that this could be resolved by purchasing a new Walmart Moneycard and activating it over the phone. I did this and once again was told they could not verify my address. Therefore, I would not be issued a permanent card, which I had planned on using to reserve a hotel room. Now I have $500 on a temporary card, but I was told that I could have the money refunded to me...they would mail me a check! How can they mail me a check to my UNVERIFIED address? Now my money is tied up with them and I still cannot use it for my hotel. The first representative I spoke with either lied or was just incompetent. The second attempt led nowhere and the supervisor I asked to speak with basically told me that I don't know where I live, that my address is in the state of Indiana when for 42 years I have lived in the same house on the same street in Pennsylvania. Funny, the IRS and my driver's license have my address.
