Boycott Title

Un Ethical Employer

Boycott Description

The Company looks at their customers as price tags how much they can get out of a customer I know thats how most companies are but this company doesnt care how the departments look or if there are good customer service reps. they just care about your money. The employees are expected to reach unreasonable sales goals and if they do reach them they raise them and if not reached they decrease their pay then fire them. The company does not reward the hard working employees they just reward the ones that make more than their sales goals.

Boycott Demands

They need to treat their employees off what work they do not by how much money they get the company it is unethical to treat all their customers and employees as price tags.

illegal business practices

Dillards in Waterloo, IA...As an associate, I was told it was my duty to work off the clock and unpaid, I was told it was an expectation that I buy the items sold in cosmetics to assist the store in reaching it's sales goals, during every gift event I was pressured to make a qualifying purchase to help the store reach it's goals. I was told that even though I worked enough hours to earn an unpaid lunch that if I took said lunch break, I was required to make up the hours on the same or following shift. An asssociate sells drugs from the men's dept but sells to the store manager so he is never held to punative measures. Another manager, regularly pulls a specific associate off the floor to have lunch with her, while said associate is on the clock. I was urged to flirt with customers to acquire sales. There are so many things wrong with this place aside from inherent issues corporate culture.

I work at Dillard's. It is a terrible place to work. But, for right now, it's all I have to suport myslef. By boycotting Dillard's, the ones you are hurting are the ones like me. Sales associates who can't find another job that pays enough to suport their families. Boycotting Dillard's will make it entirely impossible for assiociates to meet our, all ready high, sales goals. Guys, please think about what you are doing. If you want to make a change, write a note to corprate, make a complaint. But, don't hurt the  ones like me, at the bottom of Dillard's food chain.

SEXUAL HARRASSMENT, RACIAL PROFILING, PREJUDICE, DISCRIMINATION are the common practices from this company.  dont give them your hard earned cash...  show them this will not be tolerated.  I was a manager for this company for a long time until I was a victim of sexual harrassment and retaliation for reporting it..  Send emails to Terry Easley, Marva Harrell, Bill Dillard, Alex Dillard and let them know of your disgust with their daily operating procedures

Dillards will never get another dime from me!

I used to work for Dillards and I'm sure you have all heard that they take your pay away if you don't reach their outrageous sales goals. SO TRUE! Not only does the customer feel like theyre being pressured into buying something because the associate has to do everything they can to build a huge sale, but it also causes alot of toe stepping among the associates because we all have to fight for the customer! I worked at one of the cosmetic counters in Dillards and on top of having to pressure a customer to buy loads of makeup and skincare (they probably didn't need), we also had to go out into the store and "recruit" people back to the counter! If I'm a customer who is just shopping around trying to find a shirt for myself, I don't need some makeup lady telling me I need to stop by her counter to buy makeup. If I want makeup, Ill come get it! I felt so humilated having to go around "recruiting" when I know for a fact people were annoyed with me handing them flyers! Also, if one of the makeup counters had a gift or promotion going on, not only were we doing extra "recruiting" but we were expected to do announcements on the PA about every 5 minutes...not even joking. It was annoying for us, and I know it was annoying for the customer. But Dillards doesn't care! Another thing that was expected of us employees was that we had a program called C@D...(Clientelle at Dillards). This was a computerized list of customers that shop at Dillards and it keeps track of everything they buy. It seemed nice at first at the makeup counters because if the customer couldnt remember her shade of foundation, we could just look it up for her. But not only did it keep track of a customers purchases, but it also had their address and phone number. Dillards corporate expected us to constantly call our customers to make sure they didnt need makeup. Ok, so if I run out of my powder, I go into the store I buy it from and buy it. I don't need someone calling me constantly to tell me I need make up because the computer is saying that I'm running out. Dillards corporate would watch to make sure you were calling a customer everytime C@D said you needed to and take notes. If you werent keeping up, you were written up and sometimes fired. Dillards does not treat their empolyees like people, just "things" that will make them money. I could go on and on about the horrible experience I had with working with Dillards, but I don't think I could stop typing! And after 5 years of being in that hell hole, making their stupid sales quotas, and being a great employee just to keep my head above water, I was fired because I missplaced a giftcard that supposedly had money on it and they said I stole it. BULLSH*T!!
