Boycott Description

Asus, has engaged in poor buisness practices. Pushing inferior products, failling to honor there warantees and flat lying to consumers who sent in products to be tested, and I implore you not to take my word on it. Read consumer complaints on the P6t motherboards and ASUS's responce to people having issuses with these boards failing to post not to mention and flood of other poor products.

The bottom line is you have caused many people alot of money and time, much of which could have been at least partially avoided. It's bad enough to have to go through the all the motions to get your products replaced but what you put people through is simply unbeleivable, negligent and immoral.

 

Boycott Demands

Honor your warantees, there's no crime in producing budget products but there is in failing to honor your warantees, not to mention the immorality and disrespectfull treatment of those who put their faith in your products.

 

Be honest to consumers, if the returned product is bad, own up. I know I'm not the only person who went out and spent more money checking every component of my computer after sending my motherboard in and having you tell me it was fine, just to find out another $500 dollars later that it was in fact the motherboard, not to even mention similar issues with other products people have sent in. It's costing your consumers even more money, after they already shelled out money on a broken product. Classic salt in the wound.

 

Thoroughly Test your products before leaving the factory, all these issues could be solved if you simply spend a little extra money and test your products better before leaveing your control. Unless of course you knew the product was junk, which judging by the sheer amount of issues I've heard of your products, may not be too far from the truth.

I have a computer that still has an Asus motherboard from 2003 that still works. Can't say the same for their most recent products. Shortly after my warranty expired, I had a motherboard (Asus Rampage III) that I had to replace because the power would cycle on and off a few times before booting and would crash often. I determined that one of my memory sockets was bad among other problems. They insisted that it was my power supply, etc but once I replaced the board, these problems were gone. I recently sold an unused motherboard that I had left over from a build on Ebay and it turns out this board was a DOA. I'm now stuck with this board and I already know their customer service will tell me that the board is fine and it is a power supply or something else that is wrong. I will never buy from Asus again! I noticed some of their motherboards now come with a 5 year warranty but what good is their warranty when they won't stand behind it?

I sent my ASUS Transformer Prime in for a repair of a faulty camera and when I eventually got the device back it had a dent in the back. After almost 3 months of further emails I recieved one saying that the product was damaged before they recieved it and sent a single photo which could have been taken at any point showing the dent.

FORGET ABOUT CONTACTING the President of ASUS...I sent him an email....some guy called Wu Chang or something like that...looks like he cannot read or understand English because he does not bother to respond.

 

ASUS is crap because of LOUSY PEOPLE AT THE TOP.

WHen TOP management sucks then everything below will suck too.

i purchased a laptop for $600 (UL50AG) for my daughter. it was 14 months old and the screen separated from the body. Screen went dead. ASUS refuses to repair.

like an idiot, i purchased another asus laptop for my daughter. it was 3 months old and the screen went dead. she had to pay $24.45 to ship it back. the computer was defective and they repaired and shipped it back to her. now they refuse to refund the shipping. ASUS SUCKS!!!!!!!!

I thought I got a good deal a an ASUS eeePC. Boy was I mistaken. I had to send back my netbook to have the keyboard repaired. I would have been happy if they just shipped me a replacement so I could replace it myself but they wouldn't do it. They seemed to repair it quick enough but it took a week for it to get back to me. Glad it wasn't a mission critical system. Long story short, it came back damaged. Based on the way it was packaged, the damage definitely did not happen during shipping. I contacted them immediately and was treated like I was bothering them. They had me take pictures and email them over which I did. I had to follow up with tech support because I did not hear from them. After a few phone calls I finally got them to give me another RMA. I had to request a shipping label because I refused to pay shipping for something ASUS caused. I was emailed a shipping bar code that I had to bring to Fedex in order for them to print the label. BTW, it was for Ground shipping. Again, long story short, nearly two weeks later I get the netbook back and there is a piece of plastic blocking the SD card slot making it unusable. Called back tech support. Sent new pictures. Three follow-up calls later they agreed to repair it again. Keep in mind, if I didn't call them they would not have called me. During the last call and after being put on hold for the third time the call was disconnected before I was given final information. I got no call back or follow-up email. I haven't heard from them. I'm afraid to send it back at this point for who knows in what condition I'll get back in. At this point I'll probably fix it myself and through it on ebay. From now on, I will never purchase or recommend any ASUS products ever again. I will go out of my way to tell others of their lousy support.

Ny P5G41C-m lx Main board Has been back in the dealer 6 times now. 3 hour round trip to the repair shop, Charges each time, Has never worked more that 6 hours at a time. I agree!

Asus Lies and when I called to get Repairs i waited over 40 Minutes then was hung up on not even getting a chance to talk to them. I had my Lap top Repair cause the fan didn't work,igot it fixed and then it does it again. When i tried to call i didn't even get a responce I want my money back a full refund for a lousy product we shoul sue them for false products and bad business

We purchased two identical Asus netbooks since they offered long battery life and this was required for our daughers' college classes.  One of the netbooks crashed after four months.  After tapping away on F9 like an idiot, we had to send it in to Asus.  After that hassle, it crashed again after a month and a half.  Of course, this is senior year when there are several critical projects, resume, and cover letters on the computer that were lost.  Asus produces junk, cannot be contacted to honor the warranty with a new netbook, and the reps are too difficult to understand when we call, yet they treat us like we are idiots.  I am so sorry we ever purchased the Asus products.  Mac all the way from here on out.

Had a 5770 GPU start going bad on me, artifacting, freezing during game play, odd screen flashes, instantly freezes when you run any benchmark, ect. No problem getting an RMA # sent it in, it came back unfixed after stating they found no problem. I have spent over 5 hours on hold this week trying to get a hold of a person. When I did get a hold of somebody they told me to just send it back it, without giveing me any contact info on how to track it or any assurance that it will be repaired. Very frustrated. Gigabtye or ASROCK is about to become my new best friend.

Laptop motherboard failed less than 1 month! Repair was quick back in 7 days, but done incorrectly!  Did not hook up webcam, have to send it back a SECOND time for repair of different problem Asus caused! Totally unacceptable!  - Steven Hawkins

I am very srprised to see this. I have an ASUS G72GX laptop, and it has been rock solid. When I did have a problem with it, ASUS took care of it without any trouble. I've had laptops by other manufacturers (Gateway, HP, Acer) and they were cheap shoddy pieces of trash by comparison. Gateway couldn't fix the problem. The HP was flawed by design and kept burning up. And ACER... Good luck even simply contacting them! Are you sure there wasn't some sort of miscommunication involved? Drawing from my own experiences, I can't imagine an actual boycott against ASUS. Too unreal..
